The Effect of Staff Nurse Participation in a Clinical Nursing Research Project on Attitude Towards, Access to, Support of and Use of Research in the Acute Care Setting

Abstract
The purpose of this research was to determine the effectiveness of research participation on nurses' attitude towards, access to, perceived support of, and use of research. We hypothesized that nurses who were involved, directly or indirectly, in a clinical nursing research project would report a more positive attitude towards, access to, perceive support of and use of research in practice decisions in comparison to nurses who were involved minimally or not at all in formalized research activities.
