Grant ‘a defining milestone’ for health research in Sudbury: Doctor

A Sudbury doctor has received a prestigious grant to study atrial fibrillation (AF), the most common heart rhythm disorder in people and one that affects many patients in Northern Ontario.
Dr. Mohammed Shurrab, HSN Foundation’s Cardiovascular Research Chair, has been awarded a highly competitive Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) Project Grant.
“This award marks a defining milestone for cardiovascular research in Northern Ontario,” Dr. Shurrab, HSN’s Chief and Medical Director of Cardiology, said in a release.
